For over 40 years, the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYS DFS) has provided consumers and insurance carriers with the opportunity for the conciliation or arbitration of disputed claims in certain automobile insurance programs, and the American Arbitration Association (AAA) has administered the arbitration of such disputed claims in partnership with the NYS DFS.
As a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst, the successful candidate will be a contributing member of a highly collaborative team in our New York State Insurance Case Management Center. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President, the BI Analyst will primarily design, implement, and maintain the BI tools including: Data warehouse, Tableau and Predictive Analytics; Works closely with users, the BI Director, and all levels of the business to gather and analyze data to identify opportunities for efficiency and trends. Provides data analysis and explains its business relevance; Verifies accuracy of data and builds confidence in the analysis.

Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business or related discipline; 2-4 years prior work experience involving data analysis; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Computer Skills: Either already possess knowledge of SQL and Tableau, or have strong analytic abilities to quickly learn these skills. Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; working knowledge of web-based case management systems preferred.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; and ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, data charts and graphs.
Travel: Ability to travel periodically (10%) to customers, training events, and other AAA offices and conferences.
