Now is a great time to be a part of our growing organization!  We are pleased to announce the grand opening of our New York State Insurance Case Management Center (NYSI CMC) office location in Buffalo, New York.  In partnership with the NYS Department of Financial Services, the American Arbitration Association's NYSI CMC has administered the mediation and/or arbitration of disputed claims in certain automobile insurance programs.  Data Entry

 

The AAA is seeking motivated and enthusiastic Case Filing Specialists who will contribute to our 90 plus years of success in the alternative dispute resolution industry.   The Case Filing Specialists will serve as a first-level, initial contact for parties and their representatives in facilitating the conciliation and arbitration of no-fault auto insurance claim disputes, ensuring accuracy and a high-level of professional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews and accurately enters new No Fault Case filings to ensure compliance with minimum filing requirements and organizational policies; Selects and creates customer account/contact records.
  • Collaborates with support staff to ensure filing documents are appropriately scanned and processed. Receives and responds to assigned correspondence in accordance with established policies and procedures. Analyzes and indexes case filing documents when necessary
  • Communicates with parties to cure or resolve issues on any incomplete filings.  Responds immediately to client inquiries, anticipates, and resolves problems efficiently and effectively. Seeks guidance from supervisor when appropriate.
  • Weighs importance of every issue and ensures that unresolved/complex issues are escalated appropriately
  • Communicates AAA policies and procedures to parties; understands, interprets and evaluates specific case issues based on regulatory information.
  • Complies with and keeps abreast with established AAA policies, procedures and NYS Department of Finance (NYSDFS) regulations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, effective communications skills (verbal and written), successfully collaborate with internal and external entities, be constituent-oriented, demonstrate initiative and follow-through, work well individually and as a team member.


Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a business or related discipline, 3 years relevant work experience (e.g. customer service, case administration, legal environment) or an equivalent mix of education and experience. Prefer experience with intake of No Fault Auto or Liability Claims.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as legal files, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and business correspondence; ability to speak effectively, both in person and by telephone, to customers, attorneys, arbitrators, mediators and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs; ability to understand and interpret statistical reports, financial/fee schedules, data charts and graphs.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists; ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Technical Skills: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and web-based case management systems/claims administration systems.
